04/05 Headed up to Taunton to SWPA show with H.Christabella and H.Carolina, both did exceedingly well and came home with 1sts, 2nds, 3rds & 4th rosettes - having picked up places in every class.
25/04 - Another foal ths afternoon from Holmdown Kona - a really deep yellow dun colt - he is a nice big strong lad - pics on photos page.
19/04 - Holmedown Cascade (KD to her friends!) has had a colt by H.Logan - KD is up at Talisker Stud but foal will be coming home when weaned.
18/04 - Went off to SWPA show today. Decided to take H.Carolina (Lilly) the two year old filly out for some experience for her as she wasn't the best behaved when I took her out twice last year. She excelled herself, winning both the youngstock M&M and the Owner Bred.
16/04 - Just dried out enough for us to get the fields fertilized thank goodness - as rain is forecast again but at least that is that job done.
11/04 - Glenedin Dawn, who is on loan to Felicity Back has had a filly by Holmedown Ashmont - very pretty girl.
07/04 - The first foal has arrived ! Holmedown Cobweb had a nice strong colt this afternoon (in between the rain!) luckily I was there a few minutes after the birth so know it is a colt. Half an hour later cobweb galloped across the field with it away from everyone so, as per usual, we wont be able to get close for a couple of weeks ! Pics on the photos page (under "more").
16/03 It hasnt rained for 3 days ! but going to take an awful long time for ground to dry as still puddles everywhere and poached down to about 12 inches in places. Went off to another show today with Rhea (H.Arizona). She was as good as gold being 2nd in-hand M&M and 4th in the ridden. Absolutely huge classes and the show which usually is finished in 4 hours ran for 8 hours .... long day !
01/03 First show of the year at Stretcholt and we took H.Christabella. She did very well ! winning the in-hand large breeds and also the veteran ridden, and was 2nd in the home produced
Had a call from Julie Barton offering me Holmedown Christabella (Johnsondene x Cassonary of Woodhaven) back. She won an awful lot in her youth including being Champ Ponies UK and NPS. I hadn't seen her for must be 6 years at least - she is a big girl and now moreorless white. She is a lovely ride and hoping to do some veteran classes with her this year.
Still hasn't stopped raining since Christmas - still digging trenches.
Well what can I say, apart from rain, rain and more rain - all flooded including the barn. Spent most days digging ditches to get the water away. Even the barn with the new stables in was flooded out. Holmedown Roosevelt went off to his new home in dartmoor to be a very spoilt family pony.
